A veteran of the Southern California blues scene, guitarist Scott Abeyta honed his craft playing the blues clubs of Los Angeles and Southern California. He was a longtime member of White Boy James & the Blues Express, establishing himself as a versatile guitarist deeply rooted in traditional blues.
Scott joined John Clifton at the beginning of Clifton's solo career and has been an integral part of the John Clifton Blues Band ever since. His tasteful playing, strong sense of groove, and deep understanding of Chicago and West Coast blues make him an essential part of the band's sound.
DANIEL BURT
DRUMS
Daniel Burt is a veteran drummer whose powerful groove and musical versatility have taken him to stages throughout the United States and Europe with a variety of blues and roots bands. John Clifton and Daniel first worked together as longtime members of the legendary MoFo Party Band, where they spent more than two decades touring, recording, and developing the musical chemistry that continues today. A respected performer, educator, and consummate professional, Daniel's rock-solid time, dynamic feel, and decades of experience provide the driving force behind the John Clifton Blues Band.
DAN CAMARENA
BASS
Dan Camarena is a veteran bassist whose deep groove and steady musicianship have made him one of California's most respected blues sidemen. He honed his craft performing with legendary Bay Area guitarist Ron Thompson, where he developed the authentic feel and musical instincts that have become his trademark.
Throughout his career, Dan has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and beyond, backing legendary artists including Joe Houston and The Carter Brothers. His performances have taken him to festival stages around the world, including appearances aboard the renowned Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, where he has shared the stage with many of the genre's finest musicians.
In addition to his touring career, Dan has appeared on recordings for Fedora Records with acclaimed Chicago blues artists Byther Smith and Jimmy "Fast Fingers" Dawkins, further cementing his reputation as a versatile and highly respected bassist in the traditional blues community.
